This shader is supposed to appear the same as nearest neighbor (aka "unfiltered"), except with minor corrections when using a non-integer scale that are increasingly less noticeable the higher it is scaled. This shader is useful to anyone who wants to keep things as sharp as possible without worrying about scale factors. Hey everybody, I have a quick update for those who want xBRZ-like quality from the Raspberry Pi. I ended up working around this by replacing RetroPie with Lakka, setting the full-screen resolution there to 1280x720 and using the 4xScaleHQ shader (in the scalehq directory). xBRZ Shaders for Mame.zip. psychic5 - 2016-04-24 Just tried it. Looks good, but makes everything too slow to be playable on my laptop while with Mameplus 138 and HqMAME there aren't speed issues at all when using xBRZ.

  21. Implementation of the xbr shaders family is still in an early stage in Mame. For the most part they give an ugly picture or just a blank screen. As far as image enhancements are concerned for the moment the best option is still the good old Mameplus 168.
